Hoosier Park was interested in updating their deli. It had been open for over 9 years and still contained all the original decor. The deli had a very institutional feel, not unlike a hospital cafeteria. Hoosier Park wanted to maintain the functionality of the space with a large dining area, a service counter that facilitated ordering and pick-up and a service area displaying goods. However, they wanted this New York-style deli to maintain the experience of a Las Vegas casino eatery. They envisioned an industrial, but comfortable, aesthetic with creative elements of pop art. Hoosier Park enlisted ExpoDesign to design, contract and fabricate all elements of this exciting project.
ExpoDesign proposed a complete overhaul of the existing space in order to fully realize the Hoosier Park’s expectations of a New York-Vegas collision. Our design team worked closely with the client to produce a computation model the newly-renovated deli, as well as a comprehensive quote and timeline. Because of our long-standing relationship, ExpoDesign has a great partnership with the Hoosier Park maintenance team. While Expo designed and completed the project, we were able to dole out certain tasks to be “self-performed” by Hoosier Park. This allowed us to create a timeline that suited everyone’s needs—a mere four weeks.
Much of the fabrication work was performed in our shop. We had a small crew and superintendent on-site everyday throughout the process and brought in more hands as needed. ExpoDesign created the ceiling tiles, extended the service counter in the front and shortened the back counter to accommodate a new cooler. We built and applied a brick veneer to new outer walls and new bar seating area, as well as the brick application of the long wall inside the deli. We created two pop-pieces for decor. We designed, built and installed custom cabinets and shelves in the service area and replaced the existing countertops with a custom chiseled river-washed granite top. We fabricated and installed custom beam-light fixtures; created and installed a walnut veneer for the exterior of the deli; fabricated and installed new handrails and foot-rails and oversaw all productions as an acting General Contractor. The end result completely brings to life the client’s vision. Hoosier Park was highly satisfied with the outcome and still raves about the new deli to this day.[/vc_column_text][mk_padding_divider][mk_gallery images=”231,232,245,244,239″ style=”style1″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
